Paniculata is a genus of plants in the family Dioscoreaceae. Paniculata is a small genus with only two species, which are paniculata and murralongin. The plants have been used for their medicinal properties since ancient times. The glycoside, called paniculidine C, has been found to be responsible for the medicinal properties of the plant. It has been shown that this chemical can inhibit the growth of several organisms by inhibiting their ability to synthesize proteins and DNA.
