Description

Isosativan is a genus of flavonoid derivatives that are found in plants. These compounds have been shown to have a number of properties, including inhibition of bacterial growth and induction of phytoalexin production. Isosativan has been shown to be a mitochondrial membrane potential inhibitor, which may play an important role in regulating the activity of mitochondria. This compound has also been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. The chemical diversity of this genus is due to the presence of methides, which can be formed by oxidation or hydrolysis reactions. Isosativan has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
