Isopteryxin is a chemical compound found in the Chinese herb Peucedanum decursivum. It has been shown to have cardioprotective effects by inhibiting the synthesis of pro-inflammatory factors and chemoattractant proteins such as TNF-α. Isopteryxin also inhibits protein synthesis and hypertrophy, which may be due to its inhibition of creatine kinase activity. Isopteryxin is an inhibitor of the cardiac enzyme creatine kinase, which plays a key role in cellular energy production, and has been shown to inhibit hypertrophy in rat cardiomyocytes. Isopteryxin also has anti-inflammatory properties that are mediated by inhibition of chemoattractant protein synthesis.
