Description

Murralongin is a natural product that has been shown to have immunomodulatory effects in the treatment of cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. Murralongin is a p-hydroxybenzoic acid derivative that has been isolated from the root powder of the Curcuma longa plant. It is thought to have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit neutrophil migration and induce apoptosis. Murralongin has also been shown to inhibit the growth of Leishmania parasites, which are protozoan parasites that cause leishmaniasis, a disease characterized by skin ulcers, fever, joint pain, and anemia. Murralongin has been observed to produce clinical responses in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) after four weeks of treatment with 1200 mg/day.
