Description

Myricoside is a fatty acid that is found in plants. It has been found to be a potential chemopreventive agent for colorectal adenocarcinoma. Myricoside has been cocrystallized with colorectal cancer cells, and its mechanism of action has been studied using cox-2 inhibitory activity and kinetic studies. Myricoside inhibits the growth of colon cancer cells by inhibiting angiogenesis. It also exhibits anti-angiogenic effects on prostate cancer cells. The analytical chemistry of myricoside has been studied, which includes determining the structure and purity of this compound, as well as testing for carcinogens. This natural compound can also be used in food flavorings, due to its basic structure and high degree of safety.
