Verminoside is a natural drug belonging to the group of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. It has been shown to have genotoxic activity in vitro, and is active against oral pathogens. Verminoside has also been shown to have activity against experimental bowel disease models and may be a potential treatment for bowel diseases. Verminoside has been found to reduce the activity of certain white blood cells, which may be related to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of DNA and RNA.
