5-[(3-Acetylphenoxy)methyl]-N-methyl-N-[(1S)-1-pyridin-2-ylethyl]-1,2-oxazole-3-carboxamide is a potent and selective inhibitor of the human protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B). This inhibition may be due to direct binding of 5-[(3-acetylphenoxy)methyl]-N-methyl-N-[(1S)-1pyridin-2ylethyl]-1,2oxazole 3carboxamide to the catalytic site. 5-[(3 acetylphenoxy)methyl]-N methyl N [(1S)-1 pyridin 2ylethyl] 1,2 oxazole 3 carboxamide also blocks activation of the insulin receptor on cells by inhibiting Ligand binding.
