It is used in agriculture to stimulate the growth of plants and increase their yield, although it can also be used in a number of other applications, such as bioremediation. 3CYPP has been shown to inhibit the transcription and replication of viruses, including HIV, herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), and influenza virus. This drug also has anti-depressant effects in animal models. 3CYPP is not teratogenic or carcinogenic in rats and mice at doses up to 1000 mg/kg.
