Description :
Drahebenine is a natural polyphenolic compound that is extracted from the bark of Drahea edulis. It has been shown to have antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic effects. Drahebenine is an alkaloidal extract with a capitate structure, which can be separated into two isomers: α-Drahebenine and β-Drahebenine. The technique of crystallography has been used to study the architectures of these isomers. This compound has been shown to have bifunctional properties due to its 2-d nmr and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) data. The dichroism spectrum of drahebenine was found to show stereogenic activity at this position in the molecule.
