Description :
Brassinazole is a potent inhibitor of peptidoglycan biosynthesis. It disrupts the synthesis of oligosaccharides, which are essential components of the bacterial cell wall. Brassinazole works by inhibiting the enzyme salicylate 6-phosphate, which is involved in the production of glycoproteins. This disruption leads to impaired cell wall formation and ultimately cell death. Additionally, Brassinazole has been shown to inhibit the activity of glutamate transporters, which are responsible for maintaining proper levels of excitatory amino acids like glycine and L-glutamate in the brain. This compound is commonly used in research settings as a tool to study glutamate signaling pathways and their role in various physiological processes.
