Description

Methyl 4-(1-aminoethyl)cyclohexane-1-carboxylate is an inhibitor of the enzyme DNA polymerase. It is a competitive inhibitor that blocks the incorporation of nucleotides into DNA. This drug has been shown to have therapeutic potential in treating infectious diseases, such as HIV and malaria, by inhibiting viral replication. Methyl 4-(1-aminoethyl)cyclohexane-1-carboxylate also has cardiotoxic effects and can be used in research to study cardiac effects. The compound is stable under anhydrous conditions and has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth in vitro.
