Rhododendrol is a natural plant compound that is used as an antioxidant in the food industry and is also found in supplements. Rhododendrol has been shown to inhibit the oxidation of tyrosine, which is catalyzed by tyrosinase, and can also inhibit the production of melanin. Rhododendrol inhibits beta-glucosidase activity and may have anti-inflammatory properties due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. It has been shown to be effective against leukoderma in animal experiments.
