N-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-1-methylpiperidin-4-amine
CAS:<p>N-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-1-methylpiperidin-4-amine is a potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) that is used in pharmacology, cell biology, and research. PTP1B is an enzyme that dephosphorylates the protein tyrosine residues on the cell surface. N-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-1-methylpiperidin-4-amine inhibits PTP1B, which leads to increased levels of intracellular signaling proteins such as insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1). This inhibitor has been shown to stimulate glucose uptake in skeletal muscle cells and increase insulin sensitivity in mice. The compound also has been shown to inhibit ion channels such as calcium channels, potassium channels, and sodium channels.
