CAS:Magnesium phosphate is a solid with a phase transition temperature of about 30 degrees Celsius. It is used as a nutrient solution in vitro and as an absorbent for wastewater treatment. Magnesium phosphate has been shown to be genotoxic in vitro, meaning it may have the potential to cause mutations in cells. The basic structure of magnesium phosphate is composed of a magnesium ion coordinated by six oxygen atoms and three phosphorus pentoxide groups. This chemical structure can be stable at high temperatures, making it useful for wastewater treatment and hydroxyapatite adsorption. The thermal expansion coefficient of magnesium phosphate is much lower than that of other minerals, which makes it suitable for use in thermal insulation materials. Chemical analysis has shown that magnesium phosphate contains no toxic heavy metals such as mercury or lead.
