Descrizione:
Daptomicina è un antibiotico ciclico a lipopeptidi utilizzato principalmente per trattare infezioni causate da batteri Gram-positivi, inclusi Staphylococcus aureus resistente alla meticillina (MRSA). È prodotto mediante fermentazione del batterio Streptomyces roseosporus. Daptomicina presenta un meccanismo d'azione unico legandosi alla membrana cellulare batterica, portando a depolarizzazione, interruzione di processi cellulari essenziali e, infine, morte cellulare.
