    <p>2-(4-Oxo-1,3-thiazolidin-3-yl)acetic acid is a reactive compound that is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. It has been shown to be a potential precursor for the synthesis of psychotropic drugs. The carboxyl group on the molecule can be oxidized or eliminated under acidic conditions. 2-(4-Oxo-1,3-thiazolidin-3-yl)acetic acid also undergoes an elimination reaction with an alcohol and a base to form an ethyl ester and an acid ethyl ester.</p>
