Bromuro di tetradeciltrimetilammonio (TTAB) è un composto di ammonio quaternario caratterizzato dalla sua lunga catena idrofobica di tetradecil e da un gruppo trimetilammonio caricato positivamente. Questa natura anfifilica rende il TTAB un tensioattivo efficace, permettendogli di ridurre la tensione superficiale e stabilizzare le emulsioni. Di solito appare come un solido o polvere bianca o bianco sporco ed è solubile in acqua, formando micelle a concentrazioni più elevate.
