Applications 4-[(Dodecyloxy)methyl]-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane is an intermediate in the synthesis of 1-O-Dodecyl-rac-glycerol (D525520); an antibacterial agent which stimulates autolysin activity in Streptococcus faecium ATCC 9790. It is also found to be synergistic with amphotericin B against fungi.
