Citalopram Related Compound D

Citalopram Related Compound D is an antiepileptic drug that belongs to the group of phenylpiperazine derivatives. It is a prodrug which is metabolized into escitalopram, its active form. Citalopram Related Compound D has been shown to have similar pharmacokinetic properties as escitalopram oxalate, with a half-life of about 3 hours. This drug has been shown to be effective in treating epilepsy and may also be used for the treatment of other neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Citalopram Related Compound D is not indicated for use in patients who are taking carbamazepine or phenobarbital because it can increase plasma concentrations of these drugs.
