Solfato di idrogeno di clopidogrel è un composto farmaceutico utilizzato principalmente come agente antipiastrinico per prevenire la formazione di coaguli di sangue in pazienti a rischio di eventi cardiovascolari. È un pro-farmaco che richiede attivazione metabolica nel fegato per esercitare i suoi effetti terapeutici. La sostanza è caratterizzata dalla sua capacità di inibire irreversibilmente il recettore P2Y12 sulle piastrine, riducendo così l'aggregazione piastrinica. Solfato di idrogeno di clopidogrel viene tipicamente somministrato per via orale ed è noto per la sua relativamente alta biodisponibilità e lunga emivita, consentendo una somministrazione una volta al giorno. Il composto è solubile in acqua e presenta stabilità in condizioni normali di stoccaggio, sebbene debba essere protetto dalla luce e dall'umidità. Gli effetti collaterali comuni possono includere complicazioni emorragiche, disturbi gastrointestinali e reazioni di ipersensibilità. A causa del suo meccanismo d'azione, è spesso prescritto in concomitanza con altre terapie antipiastriniche o anticoagulanti, in particolare in pazienti con una storia di infarto miocardico o ictus. Il monitoraggio dell'efficacia e degli effetti avversi è essenziale durante il trattamento.
