N6-Benzoyl-3'-deoxy-3'-fluoroadenosine inhibits the synthesis of DNA by inhibiting the enzyme DNA polymerase, which is required for DNA replication. This drug also binds to RNA polymerase, which is an enzyme required for RNA synthesis. N6-Benzoyl-3'-deoxy-3'-fluoroadenosine has been shown to have a high level of efficacy against leukemia cells in vitro as well as in vivo mouse models.
