Descrizione:
L'idrossido di potassio (KOH), noto anche come potassa caustica, è un composto alcalino forte caratterizzato dalla sua forma solida e bianca, altamente solubile in acqua, che provoca una reazione esotermica. È igroscopico, il che significa che può assorbire umidità dall'aria, e si dissocia facilmente in soluzioni acquose per rilasciare ioni di potassio (K⁺) e ioni idrossido (OH⁻). Il KOH è comunemente utilizzato in varie applicazioni, tra cui come base forte nella produzione chimica, nella produzione di biodiesel e come regolatore di pH in vari processi industriali.
