Diisopropylamine hydroiodide is a compound of pyrrole and diisopropyl amine. The compound is activated by the addition of inorganic halides to form reactive intermediates. These intermediates then react with organic molecules to form new products. Diisopropylamine hydroiodide has been shown to be effective at deodorizing organic materials, such as those found in food processing plants. It has also been used in the production of ferroelectric materials and as a catalyst for anions.
