    <p>Endothelin-1 is a peptide that acts as a vasoconstrictor and plays an important role in the regulation of blood pressure. Endothelin-1 is also an endogenous ligand for two G protein-coupled receptors, ETA and ETB. It exerts its vasoconstrictor effects through binding to ETA receptors located on the smooth muscle.
