protoveratrina è un alcaloide complesso derivato dal genere di piante Veratrum, in particolare da specie come Veratrum album e Veratrum viride. È noto per i suoi potenti effetti farmacologici, principalmente come agente cardiovascolare. protoveratrina presenta proprietà vasodilatatrici e ipotensive, rendendolo utile nel trattamento dell'ipertensione.
