CAS:Isovaleric anhydride is a biodegradable, nitrogen-containing compound that is used in the production of collagen. It is synthesized by the reaction of benzyl esters and stannous octoate with amides. Isovaleric anhydride has been shown to be effective against antibiotic-resistant strains such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Isovaleric anhydride has also shown to be effective in mammalian cells. This chemical can be used as a solvent for organic compounds and is soluble in acid or alkaline solutions.
