It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of diphosphate, monophosphate, and ribonucleotides. 2-Chloro-2'-deoxy-2'-fluoroadenosine also inhibits DNA synthesis and has anticancer activity. This nucleoside is a modified form of adenosine with a fluorine atom at position 2' on the ribose sugar ring.
