Oxanthroquinone G01 is an endoplasmic reticulum protein that is expressed in mammalian cells. It is localized to the endosome and disrupts the epidermal growth factor (EGF)-receptor signaling pathway, leading to cancerous cell growth. Oxanthroquinone G01 has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β and IL-6, by downregulating NF-κB activity. This compound also inhibits ectopic expression of EGFR in inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.
