7-Methoxy-8-methylquinoline is a reactive alkenylating agent that can be used to synthesize conjugates. This compound has been shown to react with glutathione and form glutathione conjugates. 7-Methoxy-8-methylquinoline is also able to oxidize drugs in the presence of an aerobic system, which may lead to drug reactions. The reaction between 7-methoxy-8-methylquinoline and rat liver microsomes has been shown using liquid chromatography and spectrometry.
