Diclorometano-d2, noto anche come diclorometano deuterato, è una variante isotopica pesante del diclorometano (DCM), in cui gli atomi di idrogeno sono sostituiti da deuterio, un isotopo stabile dell'idrogeno. La sua formula chimica è C2D2Cl2, ed è caratterizzato dalla sua forma liquida chiara e incolore con un odore dolce, simile al cloroformio. It has been shown to react with glycol ethers, malonic acid, and trifluoroacetic acid in the presence of an electron-deficient acceptor. Dichloromethane-d2 also reacts with rat liver microsomes, forming a hydrolysis product. This reaction is catalyzed by cytochrome P450 enzymes. Dichloromethane-d2 has the ability to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. The molecule can bind to nitrogen atoms in proteins or nucleic acids.
