E 7386 is a monoclonal antibody that targets β-catenin, which is found in the cytoplasm of cells. E 7386 binds to β-catenin and inhibits its interaction with the transcription factor LEF1, preventing it from binding to DNA. In addition, E 7386 has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) signaling and potentiate tumor cell death by inducing apoptosis. E 7386 has also been shown to reduce microvessel density and increase tumor cell death in mouse xenografts. It is currently being used for treatment of colorectal carcinoma and other cancers.
