2'-Deoxy-5'-O-DMT-5-(methylthio)-uridine 3'-CE phosphoramidite is a novel anticancer agent that inhibits DNA synthesis and RNA transcription. It is a nucleoside analog, which is not metabolized by the body, and can therefore be used in combination with other drugs to treat cancer. This drug has been shown to be active against influenza virus and herpes simplex virus, as well as inhibiting the production of HIV. 2'-Deoxy-5'-O-DMT-5-(methylthio)-uridine 3'-CE phosphoramidite has also been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells when combined with other chemotherapeutic agents.
