3-(3-Bromo-2-thienyl)-8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-2-ene is a competitive antagonist of the serotonin 5HT1A receptor and a selective competitive antagonist of the histamine H3 receptor. It has been shown to be an agonist at the alpha 2C adrenergic receptor and to have neuroprotective effects against glutamate toxicity in cultured hippocampal neurons. 3-(3-Bromo-2-thienyl)-8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-2-ene is also a ligand for the LPA1 receptor, which may contribute to its antiinflammatory effects in vivo.
