Ltβr-in-1 is a novel protein that belongs to the lipocalin family. It is expressed in the cytoplasm and binds to the carboxyl-terminal domain of Ltβr, which is a GPCR. Binding of Ltβr-in-1 in the cytoplasm inhibits p65 nuclear translocation and transcriptional regulation mediated by the NF-κB pathway. This protein has been shown to have anti-cancer activity by inducing necrosis and inhibiting cell proliferation. It also reduces inflammation by downregulating TNF-α transcription.
