Calcium L-Arabonate is a calcium salt of arabic acid. Calcium L-Arabonate is an absorbable form of calcium that has been shown to be effective in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. This compound was discovered in 1867, but was not used for medicinal purposes until the early 1900s when it was found to be effective in treating the symptoms of rickets.
