4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylacetone is a natural compound that is found in lignin and has been studied as a potential treatment for congestive heart failure. This study also showed that 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylacetone had no effect on enzyme activities in rat liver mitochondria or rat brain synaptosomes.
