1-(2-Methoxyethyl)-1H-pyrazole is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and used as a coupling agent. This chemical has been shown to be an effective oxidizing agent for the oxidation of keratin fibers. It can be applied to hair before or after dyeing, bleaching, or permanent waving to improve the color of the hair. 1-(2-Methoxyethyl)-1H-pyrazole can also be used as a coupler in the production of dyes for wool, silk, nylon, and other synthetic fibers.
