Ceranib 1 is a potentiator of the Cftr. It has been shown to inhibit histological changes and reduce the incidence of cancer in animal models. The mechanism of action for Ceranib 1 is not fully understood, but it seems to be related to its ability to inhibit enzymes that regulate fatty acid metabolism and sphingolipid metabolism. Ceranib 1 also reduces insulin resistance in animal models, which may be due to inhibition of activin. This inhibitor has been shown to have therapeutic potential for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
