6-Methylenetestosterone is a synthetic hormone that has been used as an adjuvant therapy for certain types of cancer. It is not effective in the treatment of prostate cancer, but may be used to treat breast cancer and ovarian cancer. 6-Methylenetestosterone can be found in the urine and tissues of humans, where it may be analyzed using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or other analytical methods. 6-Methylenetestosterone has also been shown to have anti-cancer effects on human liver tissue and muscle cells. The drug is eliminated from the body by metabolism in the human liver and through excretion in urine. It may be administered orally, intravenously, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously.
