Cis-4-(aminomethyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid hydrochloride is a competitive inhibitor of trypsin. It binds to the active site of trypsin, thereby inhibiting its proteolytic activity. Cis-4-(aminomethyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the acrosomal reaction in human spermatozoa and also inhibits other proteinases such as chymotrypsin and elastase.
