Diphenyl-1,3-thiazol-2-amine hydrochloride is a drug that inhibits the activity of the inflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor (TNF). It has been shown to be effective in treating bowel disease and cancer. TNF is an important mediator of inflammation and this drug blocks the production of TNF by binding to its receptor. This drug also inhibits the enzyme nitric oxide synthase, which produces nitric oxide, a potent vasodilator. Nitric oxide synthase inhibition may be responsible for the anti-inflammatory properties of this drug. Diphenyl-1,3-thiazol-2-amine hydrochloride also interacts with amides, alzheimer's disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases through its ability to inhibit the protein kinases involved in these diseases.
