3-Amino-N-(2-bromo-5-methylphenyl)benzene-1-sulfonamide is an inhibitor that blocks the binding of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to its receptor, thereby inhibiting the transmission of nerve impulses. It has been used as a research tool in studies on protein interactions and ion channels. 3-Amino-N-(2-bromo-5-methylphenyl)benzene-1-sulfonamide has also been shown to have agonist activity at dopamine receptors and can be used in pharmacological experiments. 3(AMB) is a ligand that binds to a number of receptors, including muscarinic acetylcholine receptor, nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, serotonin receptor 5HT2B, and dopamine D4 receptor. This drug has also been shown to activate K+ channels and Ca2+ channels.
