:Oleandomicina
Descrizione:
Oleandomicina è un antibiotico macrolide che è strutturalmente correlato all'eritromicina. Viene prodotto mediante fermentazione di ceppi specifici di Streptomyces, in particolare Streptomyces antibioticus. Oleandomicina mostra attività antibatterica principalmente contro batteri Gram-positivi e alcuni organismi Gram-negativi, rendendolo efficace nel trattamento di varie infezioni batteriche. Il composto agisce inibendo la sintesi proteica batterica, legandosi alla subunità ribosomiale 50S, il che impedisce l'allungamento della catena polipeptidica durante la traduzione. Oleandomicina viene tipicamente somministrato per via orale ed è noto per la sua tossicità relativamente bassa. Tuttavia, può causare effetti collaterali come disturbi gastrointestinali e reazioni allergiche in alcuni individui.
