Pasireotide è un octapeptide ciclico sintetico e un analogo della somatostatina, utilizzato principalmente nel trattamento dell'acromegalia e della malattia di Cushing. Funziona legandosi ai recettori della somatostatina, in particolare al sottotipo 5, il che inibisce la secrezione dell'ormone della crescita e dell'ormone adrenocorticotropo (ACTH). The somatostatin analog pasireotide is a multi-receptor ligand with high binding affinity for somatostatin receptor subtypes sst(1,2,3) and sst(5). It suppresses ACTH secretion from pituitary adenomas. CAS-number (diacetate): 396091-77-3.
