    N-Methylhydroxylamine HCl is a nitro compound that is chemically stable and can be used as a reagent in the synthesis of polymers, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural chemicals. It has been shown to be an effective antiinflammatory agent in animal models. The mechanism of action of this drug is not known; however, it may work by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. N-Methylhydroxylamine HCl may also inhibit iron binding and have a thermodynamic data on its solubility. This chemical has been synthesized through two methods: reaction with methyl hydrazine or reaction with methyl hydroxylamine hydrochloride. It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents and can be analyzed using gas chromatography.
