CAS:Adamantylanisole is a phenacyl derivative that can be synthesized in two steps. Adamantylanisole is an analog of adamantane that has been functionalized with a phenacyl group, azido group and cyclohexyl group. The adamantanes have been modified to contain fluorides or fluorinated functional groups. Adamantylanisole has shown anti-inflammatory effects in the CNS by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and nitric oxide (NO). It also has been used as a probe for designing drugs against Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
