Vinclozolina è un fungicida sistemico utilizzato principalmente in agricoltura per controllare varie malattie fungine nelle colture. Appartiene alla classe dei fungicidi dicarbossimide ed è caratterizzato dalla sua capacità di inibire la crescita fungina interferendo con la respirazione cellulare e interrompendo la sintesi degli acidi nucleici. Vinclozolina viene tipicamente applicato a una gamma di colture, comprese frutta e verdura, ed è noto per la sua efficacia contro patogeni come le specie di Botrytis e Sclerotinia. Il composto è un solido cristallino bianco a bianco sporco con bassa solubilità in acqua, ma è più solubile nei solventi organici. Vinclozolin

Vinclozolin is a fungicide and antimicrobial agent. It inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an important structural component of fungal cell membranes. Vinclozolin is also a potent anti-androgen that binds to receptors in the prostate and has been shown to have toxic effects on cells in vitro. The compound is used as an analytical reagent for determination of fungicides. In vivo animal studies have shown that vinclozolin has adverse effects on reproductive organs such as testes and prostate, leading to sexual dysfunction and infertility.
