Solfato di diidrostreptomicina è un antibiotico aminoglicosidico derivato da Streptomyces griseus, utilizzato principalmente per trattare infezioni batteriche, in particolare quelle causate da Mycobacterium tuberculosis. È caratterizzato dalla sua capacità di inibire la sintesi proteica batterica legandosi alla subunità ribosomiale 30S, portando a una lettura errata dell'mRNA e, infine, alla morte cellulare batterica. Il composto viene tipicamente somministrato per iniezione a causa della sua scarsa biodisponibilità orale. Solfato di diidrostreptomicina è solubile in acqua, il che facilita il suo utilizzo in contesti clinici. La sua struttura chimica include più gruppi amminici, contribuendo alla sua basicità e interazione con i ribosomi batterici.
