2-[(1-Benzyl-5-chloro-1H-1,3-benzodiazol-2-yl)sulfanyl]acetic acid (BzCSA) is an inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase that was developed as a research tool for studying protein interactions and receptor binding. The inhibitory effect of BzCSA on the enzyme phosphodiesterase can be used to study protein interactions and receptor binding. It is also a ligand for ion channels and has been shown to stimulate high conductance calcium (Ca2+) activated potassium channels.
