Dietilstilbestrolo (DES) è un estrogeno sintetico non steroideo che è stato sintetizzato per la prima volta negli anni '30. È caratterizzato dalla sua struttura chimica, che consiste in due gruppi etilici attaccati a uno scheletro di stilbene, rendendolo un membro della famiglia degli stilbestroli. Il DES è una polvere cristallina bianca che è scarsamente solubile in acqua ma solubile in solventi organici.
